New varietal release!

DiGiorgio Family Wines are proud to announce the release of two new additions to our portfolio!

2012 Kongorong Riesling

During a pre-vintage tasting, it was decided that a cool climate Riesling was missing from the DiGiorgio portfolio. Kongorong (an area south of Coonawarra) was selected for its cool ripening temperatures that ensure optimum flavour development. This combined with the maritime influence and shallow limestone soils that keep the crop level low concentrate the Riesling characters. The resultant wine will drink well early and cellar well.

  • 100% Limestone Coast Riesling
  • Aromatic dry white
  • Lifted lemon zest and red apple blossom aromas
  • Refreshing grapefruit and red apple flavours balanced beautifully with crisp acidity and a lively palate

2010 Coonawarra Tempranillo

A small patch of Tempranillo was planted around 10 years ago which is now rewarding us with lovely fruit. The resulting wine was transferred to older barrels to complete fermentation and has developed into a wine to be enjoyed on any occasion. Drink with Tapas.

  • 100% Coonawarra Tempranillo
  • Medium bodied dry red
  • Red berries and macerated cherries with rich savoury notes on the nose
  • Subtle spicy oak flavours on the palate combine with red berry characters and vanilla finishing with mouth coating velvety tannins
